Description
Here is a print depicting Japanese azaleas (tsutsuji 躑躅), a flower prized for its abundant, vibrant blooms, which are sometimes strikingly dense. During my springs in Japan, I was struck by their vivid colours, which herald the return of fine weather. They can be found almost everywhere, particularly in parks, shrines and temples.

After the sakura, Japanese azaleas take over with their delicate little flowers in vibrant hues, breathing new life into the landscape. Their flowering, though brief, illuminates the surroundings spectacularly and embodies, in traditional gardens as well as during spring festivals, the renewal and fleeting beauty of nature.

This print blends harmoniously with the other Japanese floral works I have created, particularly the Japanese peonies and Japanese chrysanthemums, forming a composition inspired by the seasons and the poetry of Japanese gardens.

Entirely hand-engraved and hand-printed, each piece is unique.

100% hand-made creations

Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. Entirely handcrafted, both the engraving and the printing are carried out by hand on mulberry paper.
