Description

This is an original linocut of the stone Torii at the entrance of Asakusa Shrine, one of the first monuments I had the chance to see during my first trip more than 10 years ago. Located in the lively district of Asakusa, this shrine is a must-see destination for tourists visiting the archipelago. I was particularly impressed by the imposing concrete structure of this Torii, as well as by the Shimenawa, braided ropes, and the Shide, folded strips of Japanese paper, that adorn it. The contrast with the surrounding trees also caught my eye and inspired this linocut full of memories.

Each copy is limited to a series of 100 prints, signed and numbered by hand in our workshop. On the back of each linocut is a certificate of authenticity. If you choose the “handmade paper” option, you should know that this paper is made in our workshop. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I will be happy to help you.
