The kodama: an iconic yōkai in Japanese prints

The kodama 木霊 is a spirit from Japanese mythology that resides in ancient trees. A symbol of the vitality of the forest, this benevolent yōkai brings a protective and serene presence. This creation is directly inspired by ancient tales, offering a modern and delicate take on traditional Japanese art. It is a piece of choice for those who wish to incorporate the richness of Japanese folklore into their interior design.

A handcrafted linocut on traditional mulberry paper
Each print is a unique work that emphasizes material and texture:
Traditional mulberry paper (washi): I chose this noble medium for its ability to absorb ink while revealing delicate natural fibers.
Handcrafted expertise: From cutting the linoleum to printing, each step is done by hand. This process ensures that each linocut has its own character, with slight variations in grain.
Two finishes to choose from: This model is available as a framed print for a gallery look, or as a hand-printed card, ideal for a gift or a decorative touch.
Japanese decoration and folklore: the Kodomo collection
Through this collection, I want to introduce creatures from Japanese folklore from a poetic and minimalist perspective. Far from mass production, this piece is a testament to passionate craftsmanship. It fits perfectly into a collection of original prints or as the centerpiece of a minimalist, Zen-inspired decor.
