During my autumn trips to Japan, I’ve always been captivated by the way orchids and chrysanthemums are beautifully displayed. Their beauty is striking, with generous shapes and a vibrant color palette. The uniqueness of these flowers has always fascinated me, especially their unique shape, which has inspired countless artists down the ages. Driven by the desire to pay tribute to them, I chose to create an engraving on mulberry paper, a material as delicate as the petals of the flowers it represents. This linocut is my way of celebrating their aesthetic and cultural influence in Japan.
